Peter Lovesey

Peter Lovesey remains one our finest English mystery writers. Peter began his writing career with Wobble to Death. Since then, his novels have been translated into 22 languages, with 10 now under TV and film options. Peter was also a former chairman of the Crime Writers Association. He’s written about murder and mayhem for more than thirty years. He has won many awards for his novels, which encompass the historical mystery, psychological thriller and police procedural genres. In his debut Wobble to Death, Lovesey introduced Sergeant Cribb and Constable Thackeray, for his first Victorian series. Following eight appearances in books, the duo appeared in a number of TV adaptations. Winning a CWA Silver Dagger for Waxwork, the final Cribb, Lovesey went on to win a Gold Dagger for The False Inspector Dew. He has also won the French Grand Prix de Litterature Policiere and the Prix du Roman d'Adventures, and you still have only his foreign honors! In America, Peter has been nominated for the Edgar and Dilys Awards, and is the actual recipient of the Anthony Award, as well as the Ellery Queen Reader’s Award.

Rough Cider was the author’s first psychological thriller. Lovesey alternates this series with police procedurals featuring Peter Diamond. Two of these, The Summons and Bloodhound, won the CWA Silver Dagger
