Little Grey Cells: The Quotable Poirot

Little Grey Cells: The Quotable Poirot is an elegant grey hardcover book with a picture of Poirot’s moustache on the cover.  It is also one of those really lovely books that will no doubt be found in the hands of any hard-core fan of Agatha Christie’s dapper Belgian detective.

This is not a book that should be read at one sitting but one that you should quite gleefully dip in and out of at will. The quotes cover different themes ranging from Poirot himself to food & drink, life & death and detective work.

My favourite quote so far is from Wasp’s Nest – “One of the advantages, or disadvantages, of being a detective is that it brings you into contact with the criminal classes.  And they can teach you some very interesting and curious things.”

Little Grey Cells is a stunning little book that should be on any self-respecting fan of Hercule Poirot bookshelf.  Humorous, insightful and enlightening this is a great little book and a perfect present.  One certainly gets the measure of Poirot from these quotes. With an introduction and postscript by Agatha Christie Little Grey Cells gives the reader the perfect book in which to indulge in all things Poirot.
