Frederick Forsyth wrote The Odessa File fifty-three years ago and it became a global bestseller and we now have the long-awaited sequel that has been written in collaboration with Tony Kent.
Set in the summer of 2025 Revenge of Odessa features Georg Miller, the grandson of Peter Miller, the hero from The Odessa File. A US Senator and an aide are burned to death in his Washington townhouse. In Berlin, masked gunmen massacre football supporters during a match and in the dementia ward of the hospital an old man is murdered in his sleep.
Georg Miller, a successful podcaster begins to join the dots between the massacre and the murder of the old man and in doing so finds himself the target of some very sinister and sadistic professional killers. His investigations lead him to an organisation known as the Odessa, the same dangerous Nazi group exposed by his grandfather – and they are back and intent on regaining power at whatever the cost. And their reach has spread from Germany right to the American Capitol. There as US political staffer has uncovered some disturbing information that leads her into as much danger as Georg.
And so begins a race to stop not only their next attack but also their campaign to destabilise the Western and American political systems.
Frederick Forsyth is a masterful storyteller and together with Tony Kent they have written a superb thriller. There is plenty of action that keeps the book moving at a cracking pace and the tension and edge of your seat suspense made this an absolute page-turner! But it’s also more than just a thriller, and that’s down to the craftsmanship of Frederick Forsyth who made this a thought provoking read too – what if this could really happen given the political times we are in today?
I’m very happy to recommend this book, and to say that if you haven’t read any of the authors other works then you should give them a try as they won’t disappoint either.
